As you know by now, we are not going to shy away from controversial or hot topics. Today’s topic is another that many may consider a conspiracy theory and/or controversial. These kinds of topics are the ones that we feel are important to shed light on and discuss. You may have heard about the damaging affects of aluminum, especially if you read articles regarding natural health, or it may be completely new to you. In this post we’re going to talk about aluminum and the negative effects it has on our environment and on our bodies. Aluminum is a proven neurotoxin, yet it’s used widely in many of the products we consume and use on a daily basis. When you think of products that contain aluminum, you may think of things like Aluminum Foil and deodorant, but aluminum is hiding in many other places.
Some of these other places are:
1. Aluminum is found many vaccines.
2. Aluminum salts are used to clean municipal drinking water.
3. Aluminum leaches from aluminum cookware such as pots and pans.
4. Antacids contain aluminum.
5. Aluminum is present in antiperspirants which many believe lead to breast cancer.
6. Unfortunately, aluminum is now even found in natural water sources, our air, and soil. This is the most concerning area for us personally, and we will be sharing how aluminum is getting in these places.
Unlike other minerals such as calcium or magnesium, our bodies do not need aluminum. In fact aluminum is not beneficial to our bodies and accumulates in the brain, liver, lungs and thyroid and actually slows growth in children. Aluminum also attacks the nervous system and brain and has been linked to Alzheimers Disease and Parkinson’s. The Agency of Toxic Substance and Disease Registry which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has recognized and labeled aluminum as a metal that affects the neurological system.
How long has aluminum been being used?
Negative affects of aluminum are nothing new. Even back in the 1920’s and 1930’s scientist found negative affects of this metal, yet it was still added to children’s vaccines in 1937 because of its ability to artificially boost immune systems. It was and still is added as an adjuvant, a substance that enhances the body’s immune response to antigens, but at what cost? A paper published in October of 2015 in the Journal of Pharmacological Research stated that aluminum once in the body, stays for years (8-11 years), and it “triggers pathological immune responses” and it “passes through the Blood Brain Barrier into the Central Nervous System and triggers immune-inflammatory processes and brain inflammation”. It seems to us that there should be a better way to make vaccines effective without using this toxic and dangerous ingredient. In addition, animal studies show that exposure to aluminum is linked to behavioral issues. A simple Internet search will direct you to aluminum and behavioral brain and nervous system conditions.
Bioavailability and Bioaccumulation…
A very important but little known fact is that the bioavailability of aluminum is increased when it’s ingested with something acidic (very similar to calcium). Foods like tomato products (which are acidic) when cooked in an aluminum pot or pan, are believed to have a much higher absorption rate of the actual aluminum. What about tomatoes packaged in aluminum cans? Another very important fact to note is that if aluminum is not eliminated through the normal channels of elimination, it will store in the bones, lungs, muscles, liver and brain. Many of these organs and body systems are the very ones that are breaking down and becoming diseased in our modern society.
Another important fact that most people do not know is that aluminum bio-accumulates. The accumulation of aluminum in our bodies is the direct result of the delicate balance between our exposure to aluminum and our bodies ability to excrete it. Excretion occurs through urine, sweat, feces, hair, nails and skin exfoliation. We will discuss in subsequent posts how to activate all of these exit channels. The key point here and one that explains why so many people are developing severe degenerative brain and nervous system conditions, is that aluminum accumulates in the body with age and especially, in bone and tissues with long-lived cells, such as the neurons of the brain. Many researchers believe this is why you see more and more people as they age, developing Alzheimers, Dementia and Parkinson’s. While many experts on aluminum toxicity acknowledge there is significant damage done from aluminum exposure, they say we have still not seen how damaging aluminum actually is. The reason for this is because the true dangers of aluminum are seen over a long period of time; many studies do not track or follow up on the long-term effects.
Let’s take a look at how we are accumulating aluminum in our bodies.
Below is a list of commonly used consumable products that contain aluminum:
1. Many of the animal products that we eat may contain aluminum which come from the animal’s environment (food, air and water).
2. Aluminum is often found in food additives.
3. Aluminum is found in some baking powders, which are used in baked goods.
4. Aluminum is found in powdered drink mixes such as non dairy creamers, hot cocoa and even baby formulas, especially those that are soy-based.
5. Table salts and many food dyes contain aluminum.
6. Prescription drugs, over the counter medication and injectable medicines can all contain aluminum. As we stated earlier, drugs and vaccines can also contain aluminum.
To make this situation even more difficult to understand, aluminum can be used as an “active ingredient”, and “inactive ingredient” as a dye or as a coating such as on candy. The uses of aluminum are endless
Why is aluminum added to food, medicine, vaccines, cosmetics and more???
Aluminum is added to food as a drying agent, colorant and as an emulsifier. Aluminum is added to food and medicine dyes to make it more attractive and more appealing for purchase. Aluminum is added to vaccines to stimulate an immune response and to require less antigen; this is a cost saving measure. Aluminum salts are effective anti-caking agents and are added to create a smooth and easily applied final product with no lumps or clumping, for example in sunscreen and sunblocks. You may ask yourself, “What happens when the aluminum in my sunscreen gets baked into my skin?” Perhaps consider the drastic increase in skin cancer in the last 30 years. Connection or no connection? You can decide. Finally, as we said aluminum is used in antiperspirants because it prevents the sweat glands from functioning as they were intended to function. This is why people who are heavy deodorant users may break out. If the toxins cannot come out through the sweat glands, then they will build up in the lymphatic system and come out through the skin.
What are aluminum’s potential affects as it builds up in our bodies?
Symptoms of Aluminum Toxicity:
2. Muscle weakness
3. Bone pain
4. Bone deformities
5. Bone fractures
7. Speech problems
8. Slow or stunted growth in children
9. Memory loss
10. Behavioral disorders
11. Nervous system issues
Diseases of Aluminum Toxicity:
The medical community and government will often downplay the dangers of low dose aluminum exposure. They say because it is a small amount, it does little to no damage. There is however, significant evidence about the dangers and affects of long term exposure (even in small amounts). Known long term affects of consistent aluminum exposure include:
1. Bone diseases2. Nervous system conditions3. Brain diseases and disorders4. Respiratory problems5. Impaired iron absorption6. Alzheimer’s disease7. Infertility8. Cancer9. Oxidative damage
All of these conditions are backed with significant research, which you can easily find if you just do a little research of your own. If we look at just one condition, Alzheimer’s disease, and the role aluminum plays, this alone will be enough for all of us to be extremely diligent in doing everything humanly possible to divert, lessen and counter this toxic element from entering into our lives and the lives of our loved ones. When looking at all of the data, the majority of epidemiological studies have reported the association of aluminum levels in drinking water and the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. This means that when concentrations of aluminum rose, so did the number of cases of Alzheimer’s.

What about our soil, air and water?
We still have not discussed how aluminum is getting into our soil, air and water. The presence of this toxic element is actually changing ecosystems in our environment and the PH of the soil and even our water. It is literally effecting every single living organism on our entire planet. So how can this be? It’s not accumulating at these levels in the ways we’ve discussed such as tomato cans, deodorant or cookware. No, it is building up in our environment in a much more concentrated and dangerous way- it’s actually being sprayed in our skies. Most people are not aware of this OR believe it’s a conspiracy. We certainly have our opinions on this topic and suggest you become informed so you can form yours. We are providing one YouTube link where you can learn more about this issue.
